1. What is Spoken Diary?

Spoken Diary turns voice notes into a beautifully written diary. You record a voice note in the app, our AI rewrites your words into polished prose, and every week your entries are compiled into formatted pages with your photos. Hardcover printing of your diary is coming soon. Telegram and WhatsApp integrations are also coming soon — see FAQ 7 below.

2. How do I get started?

Download the Spoken Diary app from the App Store, create an account with your email, and record your first voice note. Your first written entry usually arrives within a minute.

3. The app crashed / a feature isn't working. What should I do?

First, make sure you're on the latest version of the app (App Store → your profile → check Available Updates) and on iOS 18 or higher. If the problem is still there, email us at support@spoken-diary.com with: what you were trying to do, what happened, and your device model. A short screen recording helps a lot.

4. Where are my voice recordings stored, and are they used to train AI?

Your recordings, transcripts, diary entries, and photos are stored on EU servers (Supabase, Ireland) and encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not use your content to train, fine-tune, or benchmark any AI model — ours or our providers'. Our AI sub-processors are contractually prohibited from doing so. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

5. How do I delete my account?

Open the app → Settings → Data & Privacy → “Delete Your Account”. If you can't access the app, email support@spoken-diary.com from the address on your account and we'll do it for you. See the “Account & data deletion” section below for what's deleted and when.

6. Can I export my diary entries?

Yes. Email us at support@spoken-diary.com from the address on your account and we'll prepare and send you a copy of your data — transcripts, diary entries, and photos in standard formats (text/JSON for entries, original files for photos). We'll deliver the export within 30 days, in line with your rights under GDPR Article 20.

7. I see Telegram and WhatsApp mentioned — how do I use them?

Telegram and WhatsApp integrations are coming soon and are not available yet. When they go live you'll be able to send voice notes from either app and have them turn into diary entries automatically. We'll let you know in-app and by email the moment they launch. In the meantime, please record directly in the Spoken Diary app.

8. How do printed books work?

Printed hardcover books of your diary are coming soon and are not available yet. Once they launch, you'll be able to order a hardcover edition of your entries from within the app — we'll handle layout, printing, and shipping, with costs and delivery times shown at checkout. We'll let you know in-app and by email the moment ordering goes live.

Deleting your account and your data

You can delete your Spoken Diary account at any time. Doing so removes your voice recordings, transcripts, diary entries, photos, and account details from our systems.

From the app (recommended): open Settings → Data & Privacy → “Delete Your Account” and follow the prompts. The deletion is processed immediately; your content is removed from our active systems within 30 days, and from encrypted backups within 30 days.

By email: if you can't access the app for any reason, write to support@spoken-diary.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm before we delete anything.

A note for early users

Spoken Diary is launching soon. If you've found this page through an App Store listing, beta invitation, or our launch announcement and the app isn't yet available to you, email us at support@spoken-diary.com and we'll let you know exactly when you can get in.

What you need to use Spoken Diary

If you're on an older iOS version, please update from Settings → General → Software Update before installing.
